Tahini Garlic Sauce (low histamine)

Pair this sauce with pasta and salads. Its so delicious!

🧄I’m celebrating tahini all week. It’s only now, after almost a year of Lyme Disease treatment, that I’m able to have it without experiencing bladder pain (interstitial cystitis flare). Thank you, mast cells. I have a long way to go, but this feels like a victory.

😉 So I made this sauce:)! Because sauces bring me joy and I hate dry food.

🌿Also, I’m on a parsely kick, so I’m pretty much baptizing every dish I make with it. I could go on and on about the health benefits, but I’ll just say: antibacterial, anti-inflammatory, vitamin C.

🍝Back to the sauce:

It’s so rich, creamy, and decadent and pairs perfectly with @jovialfoods Penne Pasta! It’s easy to make, and is pretty versatile. Enjoy it with pasta, salads, chips, and even tacos.

INGREDIENTS

½ c raw tahini butter + 2 tbsp

½ c cooking water from the pasta

3 garlic cloves

Sea salt, to taste

Squeeze of Lime (½ tsp to keep it low histamine) + zest of 1 lime (set a bit aside for garnishing)

MAKE IT

1. Blend all ingredients in food processor (minus lime zest)

2. Once it’s fully blended, add the zest and give it a quick pulse.

3. Serve with your fave pasta

4. Top with chopped fresh parsley, crushed pink peppercorns, and lime zest.

**GF/DF/LOW HISTAMINE (I followed mastcell360 low histamine foods list very strictly initially, then added some foods from the SIGHI list as I began to tolerate more foods, all under the care of a dietitian. A low histamine diet is restrictive and not meant to be followed long-term, as nutrient deficiencies may develop).**
