🍂Ready to switch up your breakfast? Here’s a fun fall way to do it: banana nut bread in smoothie form. I subbed bananas with plantains to keep it low histamine, and you wouldn’t ever know it!
🥤This smoothie has all the rich goodness of a milkshake – thank you @threetreesfoods – while delivering all the health benefits: omega-3s, protein, prebiotics to feed good gut bacteria, and fiber!
🌻Hope your morning is off to a great start!
INGREDIENTS
1 c Three Trees Vanilla Almond Milk (sub with Plain Almond Milk if you don’t tolerate vanilla extract,)
Half large plantain, frozen (used a plantain that had just turned yellow)
½ tsp Cooks Pure Vanilla Powder
1-2 tbsp maple syrup
Pinch of Cardamom
2 tbsp Organic Unsweetened Sunbutter
Optional: 1 tbsp hemp hearts
Toppings: unsweetened shredded coconut and hemp hearts
MAKE IT
1. Blend all ingredients for about a minute or more if necessary, until smooth and creamy. Add your toppings.
**GF/DF/LOW HISTAMINE (I followed mastcell360 low histamine foods list very strictly initially, then added some foods from the SIGHI list as I began to tolerate more foods, all under the care of a dietitian. A low histamine diet is restrictive and not meant to be followed long-term, as nutrient deficiencies may develop).**
