11 Feb Caramel Sauce
🥥Are you ready for the creamiest caramel? It’s made with just 3 real food ingredients: coconut sugar, coconut milk, and gut-healing ghee! It only takes 5 minutes to make this deliciousness, and it’s the perfect topping for fruit, toast, oatmeal, and cookies. Apple nachos are my fave way to enjoy this caramel, obviously. ½ c canned & unsweetened coconut milk, full fat (use coconut cream at top) – I love Native Forest Simple Coco Milk (no additives/BPA-FREE can)
1 c coconut sugar
4 tbsp pasture-raised ghee (ok to sub with vegan butter)
½ tsp pure vanilla powder
Pinch of sea salt
1. On medium heat, on the stovetop: add all above ingredients, and cook for 5-8 minutes (stirring constantly).
2. Place in the refrigerator in a glass tupperware for just a bit (to thicken more). Or you can use it as is, and freeze the remainder in individual portions to enjoy with fruit, bread, or baked goods. Good for 2 months, frozen.
