Cherry Garcia Smoothie

This smoothie comes together in just 5 minutes. Made with frozen tart cherries which are high in quercetin (anthistamine and antioxidant properties), rich in polyphenols which act as prebiotics that stimulate the growth of healthy gut bugs, vitamin C, and help fight inflammation. Don’t forget to top it with probiotic coconut yogurt and mini dark chocolate chips!

 

TIPS & TRICKS

 

1. Opt for pure vanilla powder in place of vanilla extract for an alcohol-free substitute. 

 

2. Use a frozen banana and less almond milk for a thicker texture.

Ingredients

  • 1 frozen banana

  • 1/3-3/4 c tart cherries

  • 1/4-1/3 c almond milk

  • 6 drops almond extract 

  • 1 tsp pure vanilla powder/extract

  • 1 1/4 hemp hearts

  • Sweetener is optional: maple syrup or raw honey

  • Optional toppings: scoop of probiotic coconut yogurt and mini chocolate chips.

Directions

  • Blend all ingredients in a high-speed blender, and add optional toppings.
