šThanks to Ayurveda, we have golden turmeric milk, aka turmeric lattes. Turmeric lattes are a powerhouse in a cup. They are the perfect start or end to your day, and have so many health benefits:
- Improve mood
- Aid digestion
- Decrease inflammation
- Boost brain function
š„„I opted for a combo of creamy @threetreesfoods Almond Milk and @nativeforest Simple Coconut Milk, added healing and delicious spices, and topped all this goodness off with my caramel sauce. This latte will DEF be in my regular breakfast rotation moving forward (hadn’t been able to tolerate them before today-no migraine!). Don’t skip the coconut oil, as it keeps you feeling full longer/stabilizes blood sugar.
ENJOY!
INGREDIENTS
1 c unsweetened almond milk (Three Trees)
¼ c full fat unsweetened coconut milk (Native Forest Simple Coconut Milk)
¼ tsp turmericĀ
ā tsp ground ginger, to tasteĀ
ā tsp ground cloves, to tasteĀ
1 tsp pure vanilla powder (Cook’s) or 1 vanilla beanĀ
Healthy pinch cardamom, to tasteĀ Ā
1 tsp virgin coconut oil
Caramel sauce, to taste (can sub with maple syrup)
MAKE IT
1. Blend all ingredients (except caramel sauce) in a high speed blender.
2. Pour latte mixture into a small pot on the stovetop, on medium heat (do not boil). Add spices, and whisk. Allow the mixture to simmer for 5-10 minutes, whisking occasionally. The longer you cook it, the more intense the flavors become.Ā
3. Remove from heat. If the latte isn’t frothy enough, pour it into a bowl and whisk rapidly until super frothy. Pour into a cup, and add caramel sauce.
ENJOY!
**GF/DF/LOW-HISTAMINE (I followed mastcell360 low histamine foods list very strictly initially, then added some foods from the SIGHI list as I began to tolerate more foods, all under the care of a dietitian. A low histamine diet is restrictive and not meant to be followed long-term, as nutrient deficiencies may develop.)**
